How to choose the right size bolster?

The size of the duvet bolster depends above all on the width of the mattress, but dimensions can also vary according to individual sleeping habits. Maison Dumas recommends a 140 bolster if you have a mattress of the same width, or a 160 or 180 bolster for a King Size bed. For couples with differing sensibilities and comfort needs, the ideal option would be to opt for two 90cm bolsters, so that everyone has a bolster to suit them. How do you care for a duvet bolster?

Start the maintenance of your bolster by tapping it daily, ideally in the morning after getting up, to restore its plumpness which has been put under pressure during the night. This will restore the shape and volume of the filling. To minimise the presence of dust mites, opt for thermal shock by exposing the bolster to the summer sun or regularly airing the bedroom during the cold winter months. An annual wash is also recommended. Use a washing machine with a large drum and a maximum temperature of 40°C. Drying in a tumble dryer on a gentle cycle must be repeated until all traces of moisture have been completely eliminated. By following these steps, you'll ensure the freshness and longevity of your bolster.
